Expulsado, se instal\u00f3 en una tienda de campa\u00f1a a orillas del r\u00edo Isis, en Londres, donde escribi\u00f3\u00a0The house of hunger,<\/em>\u00a0una colecci\u00f3n de ocho relatos y dos poemas. Su estilo\u00a0\u00e0 la Rimbaud<\/em>\u00a0y sus historias atormentadas\u00a0de divisi\u00f3n racial y cultural, levantamientos pol\u00edticos y violencia fueron premiados con el Premio Guardian a la Primera Novela en el a\u00f1o 1979.
